Tennessee State University’s College of Engineering will see $700,000 of the $10 million awarded to the City of Nashville from the U.S. Department of Transportation to help improve safety on roads for pedestrians and drivers.
The grant comes from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and will allow the school to offer additional certifications and provide students in healthcare programs with financial assistance.
The first semester of Lake Superior State University’s online Master of Business Administration program has been completed, and the students and the school have deemed the flexible program to be a success.
The Memorandum of Understanding between Southwest Tennessee Community College, a Predominantly Black Institution, and LeMoyne-Owen College, a Historically Black College/University, will strengthen educational pathways and solidify their existing relationship.
The scholarship, the Lloyd and Barbara Porter Engineering Scholarship Endowment, was established by Lloyd Porter in memory of his late wife, whom he described by saying she “epitomized the proverbial expression of ‘domestic engineer.’”
The agreement will provide a seamless pathway for students graduating from Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown with a diploma in drafting to transfer to Northeast State Community College to pursue an associate degree in Industrial Technology – Engineering Design Technology.
The two new articulation agreements will allow graduates from Nashville State Community College with associate degrees in aerospace technology or computer information technology with a cyber defense concentration to transfer to Middle Tennessee State University to complete a bachelor degree.
The grant will allow university researchers to make advancements in energy development through atomic level purity.
The funding will provide technology to students in the university’s Wayfinder Program, a free college credit program for economically disadvantaged adults in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
North Central Michigan College has partnered with the Industrial Arts Institute (IAI) and with the Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Educational Service District (COPESD).
