The reverse vending machines are the latest additions to the university’s sustainability efforts. Placed near traditional vending machines, the reverse vending machines allow students to recycle their plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
The funding comes from UofL Health, Owensboro Health, and a grant from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education’s Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund in support of nursing education.
The Sister Mary Ethel Parrott ’69 Endowed Scholarship was established by Jeanne-Marie Tapke, Ph.D. and her husband Richard Tapke to honor Sister Mary Ethel’s legacy.
