The first semester of Lake Superior State University’s online Master of Business Administration program has been completed, and the students and the school have deemed the flexible program to be a success.
The first semester of Lake Superior State University’s (or LSSU) Master of Business Administration (or MBA) program has been deemed a success by the university. The program was consciously designed by the university to be taken by professionals currently working in their field. So far, the program has reportedly received positive feedback on its impact, flexibility, and practicality.
The MBA program was designed so that students who are also busy professionals would be able to comfortably participate in LSSU’s program by making it online. It was created so that those who participate in the course will gain a skill set that will be useful to their careers right away. The program’s curriculum is oriented toward having a dynamic virtual learning environment, educating on problem solving, collaboration, and more, so that students will come away with practical knowledge.
In an article posted on LSSU’s website, several students who had completed the course were quoted on their experiences.
Paolo D. noted that the personalized learning experience was useful, saying, “The focus on discussions and essay-style responses fosters critical thinking and real-world application. The supportive and cooperative culture among students and faculty has been truly motivating.”
A full time professional and MBA student Molly R. talked highly about the flexibility and relevance of the program. She said, “Courses like Digital Marketing and Finance have significantly enhanced my understanding of business practices. Studying on my own time gave me the flexibility to maintain my job while completing assignments.”
Joseph N., an Executive Director and LSSU alumnus, talked about the accessibility of the program, saying, “With my time heavily invested in my professional work, I can learn and build at my own pace. The program maintains the essential classroom roundtable feel, even online. It has been both resourceful and impactful for my career.”
The main features of the program include an intended immediate impact, where graduates can apply their new knowledge and skills directly to the jobs they are already working; a collaborative environment where students can take part in group conversations and projects that improve their networking skills as well as their lecture based learning; and asynchronous learning, where students can study at their own pace, so that they can balance their busy personal and professional lives with their education.
Applications are currently open for the next cohort of LSSU’s online MBA program. Those interested in applying and taking part can find more information on its webpage, or by contacting the MBA program office by email.
