The endowment will support students who are studying economics to engage in study abroad experiences.
The university broke ground on its new UK Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building in April 2024. In February 2026, the university was presented with two financial gifts to support the new building’s construction and the work of the UK Markey Cancer Center.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, February 13, 2026 to celebrate the improved Veterinary Technology Facilities within the Derrickson Agricultural Complex, as well as dedicating the Equine Health Building in honor of Professor Emeritus Dr. Phil Prater.
The Open Educational Resources (OER) Challenge Grant will support the university’s implementation of an education pathway that doesn’t require students to purchase textbooks or other course materials.
The funding was secured by Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV).
