The average annual net price that a student who receives federal financial aid pays to cover expenses (e.g. tuition, living expenses, etc.) to attend the school's largest program. Net price is the program's cost of attendance minus any grants and scholarships received. For public schools, this is only the average cost for in-state students. Negative cost values indicate that the average grant/scholarship aid exceeded the cost of attendance.

The three- or five-semester Medical Assisting program at Southern State Community College will award either a certificate or a degree. Both tracks will instruct students in the necessary skills for entry-level medical assisting. Students will be trained in medical transcription, medical billing and coding, and medical administrative procedures. After completing the program, students can test for certification.
The three-semester Practical Nursing program will instruct students on the fundamental skills needed to be an entry-level practical nurse. The program will instruct students on how to practice holistic, patient-focused practical nursing. Courses include anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Students are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam at the end of the program.
The new concentrations will provide education students with streamlined pathways to their careers.
The series of courses is open to the public and will address evolving to meet the needs of changing workplaces.
The advanced manufacturing curriculum at the college will begin in January 2024.
Students interested in studying engineering have the chance to get a preview of Southern State Community College’s engineering program at an open house at the school’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.
After long serving in various roles at Wilmington College, Dr. Erika Goodwin will be named Vice President of Academic Affairs at Southern State Community College as the current VP, Dr. Nicole Roades, is named President of SSCC. Dr. Goodwin’s first day will be June 1, 2022.
