As part of Tennessee’s 2022-23 budget, just over $34 million has been set aside for an expansion and renovation to Nashville State Community College’s Clarksville campus.
U.S. News and World Report, an organization that ranks schools based on various criteria, ranked Ohio University number one in the state and number 14 in the country for graduates working in primary care positions. ED Ken Johnson, D.O. noted that the school has jumped 26 spots in the past four years.

After long serving in various roles at Wilmington College, Dr. Erika Goodwin will be named Vice President of Academic Affairs at Southern State Community College as the current VP, Dr. Nicole Roades, is named President of SSCC. Dr. Goodwin’s first day will be June 1, 2022.

Miami Valley Career Technology Center is adding a Registered Nurse Diploma program to their roster of healthcare classes. Students with an LPN license can sign up for a twelve month, fifty week program in MVCTC’s adult education division.
A group of community members have fundraised over $82,000 in donations to be presented to the Marion County School Board. Marion Technical College will receive two awards for individual students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program.
Select Medical and Mercy Health - Toledo announced plans to start a joint critical illness recovery hospital on the fourth and fifth floors of Mercy Health - St. Charles Hospital. Mercy Health sponsors Mercy College of Ohio which provides degrees in the health sciences and health care to the community.

The ability to get an associate degree while graduating from high school and a very competitive job market are driving many students to schools like MCCTC.
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown announced that Kent State University will receive two grants worth a collective $622,051 to research software development and training opportunities in the mathematical sciences. The funding was awarded by the National Science Foundation as part of the Supporting Early Career Researchers Act, of which Senator Brown is a cosponsor.
