The winner of the regional spelling bee at Wright State University will qualify to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Willis “Bill” Rambo graduated in 1964 and has the distinction of being Walsh University’s first-ever registered student.
The workshop’s title is “Waste to Energy: Incorporation of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Practices in the Classroom” and is aimed at middle and high school teachers.
The university’s Physical Resource Center provides food, clothing, and other necessities to students and staff in need. By partnering with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, it will be able to provide more fresh food.
Students can begin enrolling in the major in the Fall 2024 semester. Two new courses were developed to support the major.
The career accelerator is the newest initiative to come from Baldwin Wallace University’s relationship with Sherwin-Williams, following years of professional development, talent engagement, and hundreds of alumni being employed by the company.
BGSU had two teams in the competition: heavy/civil and residential. The students from BGSU competed against students from Ball State University, Kent State University, Purdue, and the University of Cincinnati.
The funding, which totals $1.2 million, will go toward supporting Choose Ohio First scholarships at Kent State University.
The grant totals $168,551 and will be put to use to help support student mental health on campus.
The gift comes from Frederick W. Recktenwald in memory of his late wife, Elaine Denman Recktenwald.
