The donation, a Nissan Altima, comes from Nissan. As part of the partnership, New River is working to include Nissan Factory Training in its program curriculum.

The grant will allow for the construction of a wind tunnel that will allow for testing of materials at Mach 5 speed, or five times the speed of sound.

Occupational therapy students have the opportunity to work alongside Jeremiah Café’s employees with autism, a unique hands-on learning experience for students to learn how their skills will help in the real world.

The LEE (Licensing Excellent Educators) Program will train future teachers to work within Hamilton County Schools. The program is a partnership between the Helen DeVos College of Education, Hamilton County Schools, The Maclellan Foundation, and The Tucker Foundation.

The university was named as a Centennial Institution for the myriad ways it has contributed to the Memphis area’s economy and opportunity.

The gift will allow Belmont University to create the Belmont Formation Collaborative, an initiative focused on character development and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among the campus community.

The initiative began in 2018 and has since raised more than $50,000 thanks to generous donations from students of each graduating class since. The 2024 graduating class has raised almost $11,000.

The grant will allow the university to establish a Center of Excellence – Urban and Community Research Center (UCRC) through which it will research effects of displacement and relocation due to gentrification. 

The partnership gives Walters State students who have completed their ASN and pass the NCLEX the opportunity to transfer to King University to complete a BSN in just three semesters.

The grant comes via the US DOEs Basic Needs – Supporting Student Success Program which focuses on providing support for students’ basic needs to boost retention and graduation rates.
