Ashton Lyvers will be continuing research on her Honors’ thesis, which investigated the relationship between gender expression and respect.
The dance marathon raised more than $2 million this year, bringing the event’s lifetime total to $22 million since the first event in 2006.
The grant is in support of the university’s Bloom Scholars program, a student success program designed to ease the transition into campus life.
The grant comes via Lilly Endowment’s Advancing the Science of Reading in Indiana initiative.
The funding will provide up to 85 students with summer coursework for Science of Reading to enhance their understanding of the program as future elementary school educators.
The school took home a total of 31 awards, including the coveted Radio School of the Year and Video School of the Year awards.
The scholarship comes from the SEMCO ENERGY Gas Company and is intended to help increase and diversify the pool of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration specialists in the state.
The grant comes from the LSST Discovery Alliance, which is an initiative of the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Energy.
The two universities have announced they expect the merging of the two schools to be completed by Fall 2025.
The $482,000 grant purchased the instrument that will help measure water quality and assist scientists to make improvements to area agriculture.
