Northeast State Community College, located in Blountville, Tennessee, was founded in 1966 as Tri-Cities State Area Vocational-Technical School. Dental Assisting
The Dental Assisting program at Northeast State Community College offers students the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to enter the workforce as an entry-level dental assistant. Students will learn radiology, chairside dental assisting, and preventative dentistry. Upon completing the program, students can take the state certification exam.

The grant comes from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and will be used to provide short term healthcare training classes.
The grant comes via the Appalachian Regional Commission and will be used to address shortages in the aviation industry in the Appalachian Region by creating a regional aviation education network.
The agreement will provide a seamless pathway for students graduating from Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown with a diploma in drafting to transfer to Northeast State Community College to pursue an associate degree in Industrial Technology – Engineering Design Technology.
The equipment comes thanks to a partnership with TEC Industrial Maintenance & Construction of Kingston, Tennessee.
The annual Because of You Campaign raises funds for scholarships to be given out via the Northeast State Foundation. This year’s fundraising goal was exceeded by more than $21,000.
