Edison State Community College offers the following healthcare-related courses:

Veterinary Technology - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The two-year Veterinary Technology program trains students to become qualified veterinary technicians who work under veterinarians. Students will be trained in anesthesia, dentistry, and animal restraint. After a student successfully completes the program, the student may take the VTNE exam which allows the student to become a licensed veterinary technician, if the test is passed.

Medical Assistant - Certificate

Students in the Medical Assistant program at Edison State Community College will learn the basic skills necessary to become a qualified entry-level medical assistant. Students will take courses like Medical Assisting Lab Techniques, Document Processing, and Human Biology in order to learn the clinical and administrative roles a medical assistant takes on.

Medical Coder - Certificate

Edison State Community College offers a three-semester, part-time Medical Coder certificate program. Students in this program will learn the skills necessary to work as an entry-level medical coder, like reviewing insurance claims, verbal communication, and how to spot fraud.
