Eight $1,000 scholarships available to Edison State Community College students pursuing manufacturing degrees and certificates

Edison State Community College has teamed up with Fastlane and the Edison Foundation to fund eight $1,0000 scholarships for students studying in several manufacturing and other related fields.

Edison State Community College’s Workforce Development and Work Based Learning Office has teamed up with Fastlane, a solutions resource partner, and The Edison Foundation to offer eight scholarships, worth $1,000 each, to students who are pursuing a manufacturing pathway or a select pathway program that supports manufacturing at Edison State.

The Manufacturing Pathway Scholarship is available for high schoolers looking to graduate in 2023 and students attending Edison State and Valley Career Center who live in Shelby County. Students looking to be considered must also be committed to either manufacturing or manufacturing support employment in the Shelby County area.

Students who receive the scholarships have to stay enrolled in the approved program to continue getting funding from term to term. The approved courses that are part of the program include Mechanical Engineering Technology, Management, Interactive Media, Industrial Management, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Management, and Accounting.

Short term technical certificates and standard certificates and approved program pathways in addition to associate degree programs are also eligible.

Students are not required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (of FAFSA) form to apply, but it is recommended as the scholarship can be awarded to students who are also receiving federal need-based financial aid. The scholarship can be used for many costs associated with college such as tuition and fees, supplies, books, and more.

The deadline for applications for the Shelby County Manufacturing Pathway Scholarship is the beginning of May. Workforce Success Specialist Roger Fulk can be reached for more information by phone at 937-381-1547 or email at WorkBasedLearning@edisonohio.edu.
