The average annual net price that a student who receives federal financial aid pays to cover expenses (e.g. tuition, living expenses, etc.) to attend the school's largest program. Net price is the program's cost of attendance minus any grants and scholarships received. For public schools, this is only the average cost for in-state students. Negative cost values indicate that the average grant/scholarship aid exceeded the cost of attendance.

Throughout the two-year Medical Assisting program, students will learn in both lecture and hands-on practice. The course culminates in a physician-supervised externship in a hospital, clinic, or similar medical setting. Students will learn the skills necessary to obtain an entry-level medical assisting position.
The Practical Nursing program at New River Community and Technical College is eleven months long and awards a certificate, after which students can sit for the National Council License Examination (NCLEX-PN). The program is designed to be a "ladder" program, making it easy to transfer credits and take further nursing courses. Students will learn skills such as mental health and geriatric nursing.
The donation, a Nissan Altima, comes from Nissan. As part of the partnership, New River is working to include Nissan Factory Training in its program curriculum.
The agreement will allow New River Community and Technical College students who have earned an associate degree to transfer to the University of Charleston to complete a bachelor degree.
Author Belinda Anderson is adding a new writing workshop called Fantastic Fridays after the success of the Fun Fridays Workshop. New and experienced writers will get a chance to improve their writing.
Students graduating from New River Community and Technical College will now be given automatic admission to schools in the West Virginia University system to build their associate degrees into bachelor’s degrees.
Belinda Anderson will be holding a class on writing one's life story at New River Community and Technical College during the fall semester. Students will learn to mine their memories and use journalistic techniques to write an engrossing work based on their experiences.
A grant from the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services will fund scholarships for 15 students enrolled in the EMS program at NRCTC. The college is also expanding offerings of the program and opening its facility to students from other institutions to take their certification tests.
