HVAC Excellence has accredited the HVAC program at West Virginia Northern Community College. WVNCC is the first institution in West Virginia to receive its accreditation.
West Virginia Northern Community College's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program has received accreditation from HVAC Excellence, the industry’s leading accreditation organization. It is the first college in the state of West Virginia to have been accredited for its HVAC program.
According to an article on West Virginia Northern Community College’s website, president of WVNCC Dr. Daniel Mosser was quoted as saying of the victory, “We are incredibly proud to receive accreditation from HVAC Excellence. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to providing outstanding education and training in the HVACR field. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, as well as the exceptional quality of our HVACR program."
The program offers both an associate degree in Applied Science in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Technology, which is a two-year track, and a certificate in Applied Science in Air Conditioning, which is a one-year track. The program is focused on providing technical knowledge and skills that will help students become employed in the HVAC industry, either in residential or commercial settings.
In order for the program to have been accredited by HVAC Excellence, it was extensively evaluated on many criteria, including the equipment the students had access to, the level of student services provided by the program, the instructional design of the program, and the program’s mission, among others.
John Labriola, who is the HVAC program director, expressed his pleasure of receiving the accreditation, saying, "Being the first college or university in West Virginia to achieve accreditation from HVAC Excellence is a significant accomplishment. This recognition validates the high standards and excellence we maintain in our HVACR program. We are dedicated to preparing our students for successful careers in the rapidly evolving HVACR industry."
