Dyersburg State Community College receives gift from Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund

Dyersburg State Community College has received a $10,000 gift from the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund in support of student scholarships for individuals studying within the Engineering Systems Technology program. Supporting student scholarships will ensure that the next generation of the engineering and technician workforce will be well equipped to serve the region.

According to an article on Dyersburg State Community College’s website, Dr. Scott Cook, the president of Dyersburg State Community College, was quoted as saying of the support from Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund, We are deeply grateful for this generous gift and support, which will directly strengthen our Engineering Systems Technology Program. An investment like this ensures our students have access to the tools, technology, and training they need to succeed in today’s workforce. Partnerships with industry leaders are vital to executing our mission, and this gift demonstrates a powerful commitment to education and the future of our communities and an investment in the workforce of tomorrow.”

Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund supports nonprofit organizations around the country through financial donations that will improve mobility, environment, or people. Using these categories as a guide for which initiatives and organizations to donate to, the Trust Fund routinely provides funding for objectives like environmental conservation, expanding access to education, improving public transportation, and promoting healthier communities, among others. Since it was established in 1951, Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund has given more than $60 million to causes such as these.
