The National Association for Business Resources named Davenport University one of Metro Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, a first for the school in that area.
Recently, the National Association for Business Resources (or NABR) named Davenport University one of Metro Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
This is the first time the university has won this award for the Metro Detroit area, though it has won the West Michigan Best and Brightest award several times in the past.
In an article posted on Davenport’s website, director of Human Resources Leslie Elliott reacted to the award, saying, “I am so proud that Davenport won this prestigious award. The award is a result of the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and its employees’ daily efforts to make Davenport a great place to work.”
The award ceremony was held at the Henry in Dearborn and was attended by Susan Crkovski who serves as Davenport’s executive campus director for the school’s Warren Campus. She echoed Elliott’s sentiment, saying, “It was exciting to hear that Davenport was recognized as one of the best companies to work for, and I was honored to accept the award on behalf of the university. I’m not surprised that Davenport was selected; it’s a great place to work! I have been employed with Davenport for more than 30 years. I retired at one point and came back because I love working with our students, faculty and staff.“
The Best and Brightest Award is given to companies that have shown that they create and enforce strict and effective standards when it comes to best practices for human resources, company culture, and several other areas. These companies are also judged to have a longstanding commitment to promoting corporate responsibility, collaboration, and inclusivity, while also attracting and retaining a skilled and talented workforce.
The companies that received the award were assessed by NABR on parameters like recruitment and selection, employee education and development, engagement and retention, employee enrichment, creative wellness and well being solutions, and compensation benefits and employee solutions.
