The University of Charleston was named one of the Best Colleges for Bachelor Degree Programs for 2024 by Money.com based on a number of factors including graduation rate, post-graduation employment, graduate wage earnings, and more.
The University of Charleston in West Virginia was recently named one of the Best Colleges for Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs for 2024 by Money.com. This was determined by looking at average early career salaries, post-graduation employment rate, cost, and enrollment.
Of all of the schools in West Virginia students have to choose from, the University of Charleston was the only one in the state to be named on Money.com’s list. The University of Charleston was among only 34 universities and colleges across the country to be given the highest possible rating on the list of five stars.
Money.com partnered with College Factual to make their list with the goal of helping prospective higher education students find a school where they could get the most value for their tuition money and study time. The schools on the list were graded using a five star scale. The University of Charleston’s online program was awarded the top score of five stars. In order to be included on the list, colleges and universities had to be not for profit, accredited in their region, have over 500 enrolled students in their undergraduate online courses, offer at least a fifth of their programs partially online, and have enough reliable data for Money.com to be able to determine a score in several different areas. Money.com also looked at other parameters such as the rate of graduation from the available programs, the likelihood of students finding jobs once they had graduated, and the quality of their wages once they did find a job.
In an article posted on University of Charleston’s website, the school’s president, Marty Roth, was quoted on his school being named on the list, saying, “For over a decade, UC has been deeply invested in online education to best serve the needs of working adults and other students desiring a quality education that fits their work and lifestyles/ We currently enroll over 1,300 students online in professional programs, including business, counseling, cybersecurity, leadership, and nursing.
