Registered nurses at Goshen Health now have an opportunity to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees thanks to a new partnership with Trine University. Family members of those nurses are given benefits at Trine, as well.
Trine University has been added as a partner to Goshen Health to assist the system’s registered nurses finish their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Trine’s online program is made up of 11 courses and can be finished in as little as a year. The partnership also allows spouses of nurses who are in the program to be eligible for discounted tuition at Trine, and first year dependent children are also eligible for a $2,000 Goshen Health Legacy Scholarship to attend Trine University at its Angola campus.
In an article posted on Trine University’s website, Julie Crossley, MSN, MBS, RN, NEA-BC, who serves as the Chief Nursing Officer for Goshen Health, talked about the new partnership, saying, "We are pleased to offer our nurses and their families the opportunity to advance their education through this new arrangement. Investing in our Colleagues' education strengthens the professionalism of our nurses, deepens their compassion for their patients and increases job satisfaction."
Nurses at Goshen Health who enroll in the RN to BSN program at Trine University will benefit from $250 tuition per credit hour.
Kim Bennett, Vice President for Enrollment Management at Trine University, weighed in as well, saying, "Trine University is proud to partner with Goshen Health to offer its Colleagues an affordable, convenient pathway to earning their Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. Studies show having more nurses trained at the bachelor's level positively impacts patient care, while providing more career and educational options for employees."
