Davenport University and Amway have formed a partnership that will give Amway employees and their families the opportunity to pursue higher education through Davenport’s Corporate Education Scholarship. The partnership will give Amway the ability to invest in its employees and improve the benefits employees will receive working for the company.
According to an article on Davenport University’s website, Gretchen Payne, who serves as the chief human resources officer for Amway, was quoted as saying of the new partnership, “At Amway, we believe our employees and their families are central to our success. This partnership with Davenport University reflects our long-standing commitment to people and possibility. By working together, we can create more opportunities for learning and growth that benefit not only our employees but also the communities we call home.”
The Corporate Education Scholarship will provide Amway employees with up to $8,000 per year as well as up to $6,500 for their spouses and children up to 29 years old. Additionally, Amway employees will receive a 20% discount on professional development certificates.
As an employer of 10,000 individuals, Amway is providing this discounted higher education employee for thousands of people.
The agreement was officially signed at Amway’s headquarters in Ada, Michigan, with the university’s president, Richard J. Pappas, the executive director of Davenport’s Institute of Professional Excellence Daniel Rundhaug, Ph.D., Payne, and Megan Wacker, vice president of human resources at AHC (formerly Amway Hotel Corporation), in attendance.
Pappas said, “We believe that lifelong learning is critical for career development and personal growth. We are pleased to partner with Amway, a West Michigan company with a global reach, to ensure an educated and productive workforce. This partnership also provides opportunities for their employees’ family members, which provides ongoing opportunities and strengthens our communities.”
