Davenport University and United Wholesale Mortgage team up for scholarship opportunity for employees

Davenport University now offers scholarships to employees of United Wholesale Mortgage and their families so that they can continue their professional development without the barrier of cost.

Leaders from United Wholesale Mortgage (or UWM) and Davenport University have recently signed an agreement cementing their partnership in committing to developing education and employment. The agreement allows for a scholarship to employees of UWM and members of their families. The signing ceremony was held in Pontiac, Michigan at UWM’s headquarters on April 2, 2025.

United Wholesale Mortgage is the biggest mortgage lender in America, and employs more than 9,000 people who now have the opportunity to take advantage of Davenport University’s Gold Education Scholarship. UWM is able to qualify for Davenport’s for the Gold level because it has been certified as a Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Gold-level Veterans-Friendly Employer.

UWM employees who take advantage of the Gold Education Scholarship will be allowed up to $8,000 each year in scholarship money. Spouses and children up to the age of 29 of UWM employees can take advantage of as much as $6,500 every year. The Institute of Professional Excellence is also allowing for a 20% discount on professional development certificates and certifications. 

Davenport University’s goal for the Corporate Education Scholarship Program is to create more opportunities for companies in Michigan to be able to invest in the professional growth of their employees, which should also help them retain that talent. Attending the signing ceremony was the executive director of IPEx, Daniel Rundhaug, Ph.D., and Monical Haider, the vice president of Engagement for UWM.
