Davenport University partners with Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for tuition discount program

The Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has joined the school’s Corporate Partner Scholarship Program to provide 20% tuition discounts to the chamber’s members and their dependents.

Davenport University and the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce have partnered for Davenport’s Corporate Partner Scholarship Program. The chamber’s involvement in the partnership provides its members and their dependents with 20% tuition discounts to attend Davenport University, among other education benefits.

According to an article on Davenport University’s website, Mark Moreno, who serves as the executive director of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, was quoted as saying of the partnership, “The Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing a return on investment to our members by enabling access to business opportunities and developmental resources through strategic initiatives like this one with Davenport. We are dedicated to fostering economic advancement, growth and sustainability for our members and consider Davenport a strategic partner in offering educational opportunities, especially now that the university has launched its Casa Latina program.”

The Casa Latina program officially launched this fall with its first enrolled students. The program aims to provide its students with “professional proficiency” in both English and Spanish as they pursue their degrees, with classes being conducted in Spanish one week and English the next on a rotating basis.

Speaking of the Casa Latina program, Carlos Sanchez, the program’s executive director, said, “In the Casa Latina program, we prioritize continuing education as a key factor in the professional growth of the Latino Community. By pursuing further education, people invest in their own future and the future of their families.”

The Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, its members, and their dependents will benefit from the Corporate Partner Scholarship program in that the program provides a 20% tuition discount toward associate, bachelor, or master’s degree, a discount on professional development, certificate programs, and non-credit trainings, as well as no application fee when applying to Davenport University. The tuition discount will apply to the Casa Latina program, as well. The goal is to help individuals save time and money as they pursue further education.

Richard J. Pappas, Ed.D., the university’s president, said, “The Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is committed to its members and providing them with educational opportunities. We’re excited to partner with them and all business leaders who want to invest in their employees’ growth and future.”
