The Corporate Education Scholarship Program aims to help organizations contribute to the continued growth of their employees and employees’ families by providing Davenport University scholarships.
Davenport University and Gentex have solidified their educational partnership by bringing Gentex on to Davenport’s Corporate Education Scholarship Program, an initiative that helps corporate organizations provide their employees with the benefit of scholarships for higher education at Davenport University.
According to an article on Davenport University’s website, Steve Downing, who is the president and CEO of Gentex, explained how this partnership works to enhance a benefit the company already provides to its employees. Downing is quoted as saying, “This program with Davenport University helps break down the financial barrier to continuing education. Employees can use the upfront scholarship money along with our tuition reimbursement program to reduce the cost of earning a degree and increase their upward mobility within the company. It’s also a wonderful employee benefit to reduce the financial cost of higher education for their family members as well.”
Davenport University’s Corporate Education Scholarship Program partnership with Gentex, according to its webpage, provides up to 50 Gentex employees and 50 family members of Gentex employees with up to $8,000 or $6,500, respectively, in tuition dollars. The scholarships can be used for up to 22 credit hours per year and can be used toward associate, bachelor, and master’s degrees. Additionally, eligible employees or family members can receive 20% off certificate programs, professional development workshops, and trainings.
In order to be eligible for the opportunity, employees’ family members must be the employee’s spouse, child, or step-child, and they must be under 29 years old. Anyone wishing to take advantage of the scholarship must apply for admission to Davenport University, identifying themselves as affiliated with Gentex, and if accepted, must enroll in classes, at which point they can accept the scholarship.
Richard J. Pappas, Ed.D., the president of Davenport University, shared his enthusiasm for the new partnership, saying, “Davenport University is committed to improving access to a college degree and lifelong learning. We are proud to partner with Gentex to offer an exclusive corporate partner scholarship so more employees can continue their education and advance their careers with an innovative company with leaders who believe in investing in their people.”
