University of Evansville recognized as 2023 Community Champion of the Year by Evansville Regional Economic Partnership
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP) named University of Evansville as its 2023 Community Champion of the Year, an honor bestowed due to the university’s role in securing significant funding for the Evansville Promise Neighborhood grant.
At the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership’s third annual meeting and dinner on September 28, 2023, the University of Evansville was named the organization’s Community Champion of the Year.
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership meeting and dinner is an important gathering for the region. Each year, local leaders are awarded and celebrated, and this year, the University of Evansville had cause to celebrate.
The university’s recognition comes from being instrumental in funding of the $30 million Evansville Promise Neighborhood grant. Through collaboration with community leaders and local businesses and organizations, University of Evansville was able to gain support from 23 partner agencies through matched donations, leading to $62 million being invested into the Evansville Promise Neighborhood grant.
