Bluegrass Community and Technical College’s Air Conditioning Technology program receives high honor
Best Value Schools has released its Best 20 HVAC Schools in 2023 ranking wherein Bluegrass Community and Technical College was ranked 18th for the second year in a row.
Bluegrass Community and Technical College’s Air Conditioning Technology program’s efforts to provide quality education have been recognized. Best Value Schools has ranked the school’s Air Conditioning Technology program 18th in its Best 20 HVAC Schools in 2023. The HVAC program beat out other schools for the honor such as Trident Technical College and Kirkwood Community College.
Best Value Schools ranks programs based on tuition, student to faculty ratio, and total student enrollment. Bluegrass Community and Technical College was the only school in the state of Kentucky to make it onto the HVAC list.
Assistant Professor and Air Conditioning Technology Program Coordinator John Christiansen was quoted in an article about the ranking on the school’s website, saying, “We’re standing firm at #18. It’s a point of pride to be recognized for offering some of the best value for an HVAC program not just in Kentucky but across the nation.”
Bluegrass Community and Technical College was ranked 18th by Best Value Schools last year, as well. The school is also looking to the future to further add value to its HVAC program, as this Fall semester the program will expand to include Building Automation and Commercial Air Conditioning degrees.
Dr. Koffi Akakpo, the president and CEO of Bluegrass Community and Technical College, also weighed in on the ranking, saying, “I congratulate and thank our faculty for their hard work and dedication to student success. Our HVAC program is one of the many paths we offer our community for a better life through education.”
