Cleveland State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sign dual admission agreement

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Cleveland State Community College have signed a Dual Admission Agreement which allows Cleveland State students who graduate with an associate degree to seamlessly transfer to UTC.

A Dual Admission Agreement has been signed between Cleveland State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The agreement will allow transfer students a seamless transition between earning their associate degree at Cleveland State to continuing their education toward a bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The two schools have agreed to allow Cleveland State students who have earned their associate degree guaranteed admission to the University of Tennessee. Those students who choose to transfer will be given tailored guidance from advisors at the University of Tennessee while still at Cleveland State to allow for a smooth and easy transition. Cleveland State students will also be given priority registration at UTC during their last semester.

Students participating in this transfer program will receive a UTC student ID, giving them access to the benefits afforded all students of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga like athletic events, the aquatics and recreation center, and more.

In an article posted on Cleveland State’s website, the Chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Steven R. Angle talked about the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Cleveland State Community College and reaffirm our commitment to provide Cleveland State students with a smooth transfer to UTC to complete a bachelor’s degree program. This dual admission agreement signing is an example of higher education institutions working together to empower students while we strive to meet regional and state workforce needs.”

Cleveland State Community College’s President Dr. Ty Stone also spoke on the partnership, saying, “We are excited to continue working closely with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I appreciate the commitment of the faculty and staff at both institutions to make the transfer process even easier for students. Our collaborative partnership will lead to a greater pathway for our students and our community.”
