Students in the Medical Assisting program at Cleveland State Community College will learn how to work effectively in the medical workplace. Courses of study include Medical Terminology, Introduction to Psychology, and Healthcare Legal/Ethical Issues.
Medical Office - Associate of Applied Science/Certificate
Students in the Medical Office program at Cleveland State Community College can choose to pursue either a certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree. Students will take classes like Records Management, Medical Terminology, and Office Procedures to help prepare them for employment in a routine medical office environment.
Nursing - Associate of Applied Science
The goal of the Nursing program at Cleveland State Community College is to prepare students to take the NCLEX-RN exam upon finishing all course requirements. Cleveland State Community College was awarded the funding along with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga to create the Experiential Learning in Advanced Manufacturing towards Novel and Diverse Career Opportunities for Rural Tennessee Students (EXPAND TN) program.
The Carl Hite Math and Science Building has been closed for two years for the $2 million renovation project. When the building reopens in August, it will also house the new Greg A. Vital Center for Natural Resources and Conservation.
The funds for the new equipment comes from City Fields and Cleveland State Community College’s Governor’s Investment in Vocational Education 2 grant.
The pitch competition is open to new local businesses and features cash prizes up to $7,500.
