Owens Community College’s Strategic Marketing Office wins 10 awards

The 2025 Collegiate Advertising Awards presented the Strategic Marketing Office at Owens Community College with 10 prizes.

Owens Community College recently announced that its Strategic Marketing and Communications Office was presented with 10 2025 Collegiate Advertising Awards. Among these 10 wards, five of them were gold awards. The awards were presented as part of a nationwide competition that included universities and colleges, and Owens competed in the 5,001 to 10,000 student enrollment category. 

The Collegiate Advertising Awards are a top national program that works to honor the most talented marketing professional of the day, by recognizing the most impressive work being done in media specific to the services and products provided by higher education institutions.

One of the entries coming from Owens to be recognized was a 90-second commercial entitled Alex and Alex: A Transfer Story. The online video was created as part of a collaboration with Madhouse Films. The commercial notably aired during February’s Super Bowl.

Owens Community College’s President’s blog, Beyond Tuition: Understanding the Hidden Challenges for Students, won gold. As did the BSN Billboard Series, the Pack the SHAC Basketball Mania T-Shirt Design, and the Admissions Enrollment Postcard Series.  

Of the silver winners, one of the standouts was the owens.edu homepage redesign, which was created with the collaboration of Stamats Communications. The OTV Digital Campus graphics, the Foundation eNewsletter (October 2025 edition), the Hello Owens logo design, and the Healthcare Education Center grand opening special event planning and media coverage also won silver.

The marketing office at Owens has won 33 awards since 2023 for its work promoting the school. Of those awards, 20 have been Collegiate Advertising national awards. The office has also won  seven NCMPR district awards, one NCMPR national award, an Education Digital Marketing national award, and four American Advertising Federation Toledo Addy awards.

The members of the Strategic Marketing and Communications team are: Tasha Hussain Black – Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Marketing and Communications, Andy Woodard – Director, Strategic Marketing and Communications, Emily Obereder – Senior Graphic Designer, Carla Pinson – Lead Web Strategist, Jeremy Schneider – Content Strategist, Brock Petrie – Videographer/Photographer, and Benjamin Niedzielski – Marketing Coordinator.
