Sinclair Community College will receive $1.145 million in funding for its new Integrated Technology Education Center thanks to money earmarked through the senate. In addition to the Enhanced Manufacturing Education Center project at Sinclair Community College, three other projects in the Miami Valley were sponsored by US Rep. Mike Turner and received support from Sen. Jon Husted and Sen. Bernie Moreno.
According to an article on Sinclair Community College’s website, Dr. Steve Johnson, who serves as the college’s president and CEO, was quoted as saying, "The launch of the Integrated Technology Education Center is a declaration of Sinclair’s unwavering commitment to the future of our students and our region. Thank you to U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, Senator Jon Husted, and Senator Bernie Moreno for their continued support of Sinclair Community College and the Dayton region. ITEC will serve as a dynamic, flexible hub, firmly establishing Sinclair as a national leader in technology innovation - a place where students will gain the cutting-edge skills necessary to drive economic growth and secure our digital future.”
In November 2025, the college announced its intention to begin a $30 million initiative to position the college as a leader in technology innovation. The initiative is to include a renovation of Building 8, which is to become the Integrated Technology Education Center, to become a centralized learning hub that will combine artificial intelligence, IT, and cybersecurity.
The goal of the Integrated Technology Education Center is to prepare students to work in high-demand technology fields through hands-on experiences and stackable credentials.
The Integrated Technology Education Center is expected to open in 2028.
