Zane State College partners with Genesis HealthCare System

The partnership, which officially started on July 1, 2025, will help expand the region’s access to healthcare education, with enhanced programming, employment pipelines, and tuition reimbursement opportunities.

Zane State College has formed a collaboration with Genesis HealthCare System to help expand the region’s access to quality healthcare education opportunities. The partnership is multifaceted and will include initiatives to boost the local workforce, enhance educational programming, and form employment pipelines.

According to an article on Zane State College’s website, Dr. Chad Brown, the college’s president, was quoted as saying of the partnership, “This collaboration is the result of years of conversation, alignment and shared vision. We’ve built this intentionally – based on data, trust and a deep understanding of what our community needs. Zane State and Genesis understand that with this kind of investment comes expectation, and we’re committed to being transparent, accountable and outcome-focused every step of the way.”

While the two organizations will be working together to achieve their combined goals of bolstering the region’s healthcare workforce and improving education, each institution will remain separate and maintain control over their respective specialties. Zane State College will remain in charge of education and Genesis HealthCare System will maintain control of the clinical aspects of the projects.

Matthew Perry, who serves as the president and CEO of Genesis HealthCare System, said, “Working with Zane State College to expand healthcare programming and opportunities will benefit students in our community. Together, we are investing in the future of students of all ages to help them pursue careers in the healthcare field. It will also benefit all of us as we continue to build on our strong foundation of compassionate, quality healthcare services and education in the six counties Genesis and Zane State College serve.”

Genesis HealthCare System will provide tuition reimbursement opportunities and clinical experience opportunities, as well as offer its support and expertise for program development, while Zane State College will focus on enhancing student support services, academic program development, and career pathway opportunities.
