Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College partners with University of Charleston for articulation agreement

Students who earn an associate degree at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College will now experience a seamless transfer process to bring their credits into bachelor or master degree programs at the University of Charleston.

Students looking to transfer from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College to the University of Charleston will now experience a smoother transition thanks to the articulation agreement recently signed by leadership from each school. The agreement outlines the commitments each school is making to ensure students can transfer their credits as easily as possible.

According to an article on Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College’s website, Dr. Pamela L. Alderman, the president of the college, was quoted as saying, “This partnership with the University of Charleston represents an exciting opportunity for our students to pursue their educational goals without the barriers often associated with transferring schools. We are dedicated to providing our students with every possible advantage, and this agreement is a major step in that direction.”

The agreement ensures that students who have received an associate degree from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College can transfer their earned credits to the University of Charleston to complete an associate or bachelor degree. Via educational pathways, certain programs will be available for credit transfer, and each school has committed to helping students become aware of their credit transfer and program options.

Additionally, students who transfer to the University of Charleston will be able to access the student resources available on campus, such as academic advising and career services. The two schools will collaborate closely to produce workshops and information sessions that will help students understand the process to utilize the credit transfer opportunities available to them.
