The Eagle Express Joint Admission Agreement was initially signed by both institutions in 2022 and makes it simpler for Ashland Community and Technical College students to pursue a four-year degree at Morehead State University.

The project, which will add more classroom space, modernize existing spaces, and improve sustainability efforts, is expected to be largely completed by January of 2027. 

The Health Professions Center is the home to the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. The renovations will add more classrooms, install new technology, and revive the outside of the building.

As an education partner, Shepherd University’s programs and courses are available to Amazon employees to continue their education or upskill in their current skill sets toward a more lucrative position.

The $100,000 grant will allow for more achievement and opportunities for students across Appalachia in STEM fields.

The $1.7 million gift from Flip West and the West family is in honor of Gary E. West, who graduated from West Liberty State College and went on to become a successful businessman and pilot.

The program’s development is the result of various industry partnerships. Students will learn the skills to perform maintenance on industrial compressor systems.

The grants come from the National Science Foundation’s CAREER program, which provides funding for researchers to establish fundamental roles as lifetime leaders in their fields.

The $1.5 million grant comes from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Initiative and will fund financial and other support for nursing students who will be working in rural communities.

The Haven Hill Hudson Memorial Scholarship was established to help students afford to become nurse practitioners in honor of Haven Hill Hudson.
