The college has received $25,000 from Domtar, formerly Paper Excellence Group, to support three key initiatives.
The college received a 2025 Bellwether Award for Workforce Development for its "From Coal to Careers – The Lisman Workforce Complex” initiative.
The partnership will result in a job placement pathway via the RJet Cadet program.
The provisional grant award will run for three years and is expected to provide around $4.5 million in funding. The final funding notifications are currently pending.
The electrical technology program will now award students with an associate of applied science degree.
The partnership involves Indiana Landmarks, a nonprofit organization that revitalizes historic buildings for modern use, rehabilitating the Linwood House, a mid century modern home on Valparaiso University’s campus, to become the organization’s northwest field office.
The partnership will give Indiana Wesleyan University students access to ACT’s short-term, online training offerings to prepare students to work in allied healthcare settings.
The exercise science program will have two concentrations: the Bachelor of Arts with a Health and Fitness concentration and the Bachelor of Science with a Rehabilitative Science concentration.
The specialized training equipment will give nursing students the ability to practice their skills on newborn manikins to prepare them for their careers.
A historical property, the former Larue Carter Campus, will be restored and turned into a learning hub as part of the Riverside Education Innovation District.
