The Nursing program at Andrews University is designed to help students prepare for careers as professional nurses. In addition to class work assigned by Christian professors, students will have hands-on externships and will attend a mission trip during the program. The program also assists students to prepare for the NCLEX exam with a review course.
This most recent grant for a project called “Effects of Ionospheric Density Irregularities on High-Frequency Radio Wave Propagation” by professors Eun-Hwa Kim and Jay Johnson, who were also behind the earlier NSF grant award.
The new program will be housed within the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and will give students the hard skills needed to pursue a career as an occupational therapist, as well as equip them with soft skills like compassion.
Currently, Andrews University is the only university in Michigan to have received the designation.
