Nursing Pathway - RN - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Nursing Pathway RN degree program at Jackson State Community College prepares students to succeed as entry-level registered nurses. Instructors will help prepare students to take the NCLEX-RN exam. The 68-credit program covers topics integral to registered nursing, like Psychology, Foundations of Nursing, and Adult Health Nursing. Students in the program must meet clinical placement requirements.

LPN-RN Career Mobility Track - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The LPN-RN Career Mobility Track program is designed to equip students with the skills needed to become entry-level registered nurses. The program aims to provide adequate preparation for students to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Students will take courses like Nursing Transitions, General Psychology, and Life Span Psychology.

Healthcare Technician - Certificate

Students in the Healthcare Technician certificate program at Jackson State Community College will learn the basic skills needed to enter the healthcare job market. Students will learn the duties and responsibilities associated with medical assistants, phlebotomy technicians, and EKG technicians.

Patient Care Technician - Certificate

The Patient Care certificate program at Jackson State Community College is aimed at students who are seeking entry-level positions in medical facilities. Students will take courses like Intro to Health Science, EKG/Soft Skills, and Phlebotomy. Students who complete the program should feel prepared to take the CPCT/A certification exam.

Occupational Therapy Assistant - Associate of Applied Science Degree

Jackson State Community College offers a two-year Occupational Therapy Assistant program which awards students with an Associate of Applied Science degree upon completion. The program aims to prepare students to take the NBCOT certification exam so graduates can practice as certified occupational therapy assistants. The program is designed to give students the foundational skills needed to work as an entry-level occupational therapy assistant. In addition to classroom learning, students will participate in fieldwork to give them the opportunity to practice and demonstrate the skills gained in the classroom.
