Innovative new program coming to Cleveland State University in upcoming spring semester

The Global Tech Experience will be available to all undergraduate students regardless of major.

Cleveland State University has a brand new option for its undergraduate students that is intended to help fix the “broken” pathway from college to career, according to the Global Tech Experience website.

According to an article on Cleveland State University’s website, Melissa Gruys, Ph.D., who is the dean of the Monte Ahuja College of Business, wants all students to take part in this new opportunity. “We encourage all CSU undergraduate students to take advantage of the CSU Global Tech Experience. It is important that students build their digital acumen in coding, digital marketing and data analytics in order to compete in the global market.”

The program will give students from any major a global perspective to their studies through virtual learning that will open their doors without leaving their computers. Students will work with others from all over the world, learn widely applicable skills and tools, and participate in workplace simulations.

The Global Tech Experience comes from Podium Education and intends to virtually fill the gap for students who can’t participate in traditional internships during their time in college.

Nigamanth Sridhar, Ph.D., who is the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and provost of CSU, said, “Offering the Global Tech Experience to our Cleveland State University undergraduate students will enable them to boost their resume, gain valuable skills and complete real-world projects with internationally recognized organizations.”

The program will begin enrolling for the Spring 2024 semester and will be open to all Cleveland State University students and requires no prerequisites. Students will participate in LiveLabs via Zoom and will also have previously recorded videos to view at their own pace.
