Lansing Community College's radio and podcast programs win three national awards

The w3 Awards has recognized Lansing Community College for its LCC Connect programming, which launched just last year.

Lansing Community College's LCC Connect radio and podcast programs are relatively new but have already made connections and earned awards for its content.

Three awards have been given to LCC Connect: Individual Episode in the Educational & Institutional Category for the Who's That Star with Lisa Alexander, featuring Ronda Miller program, Individual Episode in the Arts & Entertainment category for the Art Happens Here with Bruce Mackley, featuring Brian Whitfield program, and General Series Community category for LCC Connect as a whole.

According to an article on Lansing Community College’s website, Daedalian Lowry, who is the LCC Connect Broadcast Services Manager, said, “From the beginning, our goal with LCC Connect has been to connect our college with the community and our community to the college. With over 20 podcasts fronted by LCC staff, faculty, students and community activists, I believe we are truly succeeding in reaching our goal. Winning the w3 awards is an incredible tip of the hat to all the hard work these folks have put into highlighting the community and college alike.”

LCC Connect has grown impressively since launching in 2022. It now hosts more than 25 podcasts run by students, faculty, and staff at Lansing Community College.

At the w3’s 18th annual Be the Spark awards, LCC Connect snagged three silver awards for its programming.
