The University of Olivet is seeking nonprofit organizations to apply for its Community Investment Grant

The University of Olivet’s Community Investment Grant awards between $250 to $5,000 to local nonprofit organizations. It is seeking applications for its next round of investments.

The University of Olivet has been awarding grants to local nonprofit organizations since 2017, and it is seeking proposals for its next recipients.

According to an article on The University of Olivet’s website, Steven M. Corey, Ph.D., who is the president of the university, stated, “As part of The University of Olivet’s ongoing commitment to the Olivet community, we are pleased to have the opportunity and capacity to provide financial support to key initiatives and needs within the greater Olivet community through our Community Investment Grant. It is an honor to support selected organizations in the important work they do for the benefit of the citizens of Olivet.”

He also noted that giving and community enrichment has always been part of the university’s DNA: “When The University of Olivet was founded nearly 180 years ago, its founders envisioned a symbiotic relationship of a university and community, created together, working together, thriving together in support of one another. Throughout our long history, there have been countless ways that The University and community have fulfilled this vision, enriching one another intellectually, economically, spiritually and culturally,” said Corey.

As such, proposals can be submitted until January 30, 2024. Nonprofit organizations local to Olivet, Michigan are welcome to apply. In order to be eligible, an organization must have a current tax-exempt status as a charity, be a recognized government entity, or be a K-12 school or church with a proposal that will benefit the whole community.

Proposals can be submitted online, and the winners will be announced in March. Questions can be sent to Alissa Holmes at aholmes@UOlivet.edu.
