Xavier University finds itself on U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges list for second consecutive year

For the second year in a row, Xavier University has been listed as one of the best institutions of higher learning in the country by the U.S. News and World Report, ranking well regionally and within specific educational categories, as well.

The U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges report has ranked Xavier University as a top-40 university nationally for undergraduate teaching in its 2023-2024 report. This means that Xavier is one of the country’s biggest and most influential higher education institutions for the second year in a row.

The report ranked Xavier University as 39th in the undergraduate teaching categories across the entire country, which is 15 spots higher than Xavier was ranked last year. The school was only one of only ten schools to rise that many spots in the category.

Xavier found itself making other leaps over last year, as well, such as a 24-spot rise in the category of best value national universities to an overall ranking of 149th, and a 39-spot climb in the undergraduate nursing program category landing the school 133rd overall.

The school was not limited to those wins, however; it saw several of its specialities also recognized for its good work, including four undergraduate business programs that ranked in the top 40 in the country in their own categories: the Marketing program was ranked 32nd, the Finance program was ranked 40th, the Entrepreneurship program was ranked 22nd, and the Analytics program was ranked 21st.

Last year was the first year that Xavier University was listed on the U.S. News and World Reports Best Colleges list, which comes after years of growth. More than 60% of the school’s students come from out of state, and more than 10 regional recruiters from the university are located in such places as San Diego, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, New York City, Boston, and more.

Xavier has a number of elite academic programs, including a roster of pre-med programs that have seen over 85% of their graduates be accepted into medical school, which is more than double the national average of only 40%. The school’s education, business, and nursing programs also see themselves among the most popular programs with new students year after year.

Across all of its academic programs, Xavier University students are prepared for success after the acquisition of their degrees. For instance, Xavier’s Class of 2022 had a record breaking student success rate of 99%, which means that nearly all graduating students served in a full time service position, attended graduate school, or were employed within six months of their graduation.
