The University of Rio Grande to offer four new programs for the Fall 2023 semester

The University of Rio Grande will now offer a Certified Financial Advisor, an Associate of Technical Studies in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience starting in the Fall 2023 semester.

The coming fall semester will see four new academic offerings for students at the University of Rio Grande. The school will start offering Certified Financial Advisor, Associate of Technical Studies in Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Science in Public Health, and Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience programs. All of these new programs will have online and in-person components, with the in-person class sessions taking place at Rio Grande’s main campus. These new programs are a continuation of a trend of growth and expanding opportunities for students at the university.

In a press release on the school’s website, the Dean of the College of Art & Science, Lynley Carey, was quoted as saying, “I am very excited these new academic offerings open up more opportunities for students at Rio.”

Students interested in the Certified Financial Advisor Certificate must have already completed a bachelor’s degree, or be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program. The certificate program will allow students to work as a financial planner or advisor after completion.

The Associate of Technical Studies in Cybersecurity program will give students the skills necessary to work in the private sector, or in government jobs assisting in the efforts to prevent digital attacks on computer networks.

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health program allows students to be qualified to work in a variety of healthcare environments such as the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, their local health department, and more. Students who complete the program will be ready to navigate and solve health challenges facing the community.

The Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience program will qualify students to work as health educators, laboratory technicians, or ready them to continue their medical school journey.

The Dean of the College of Professional & Technical Studies, Dr. Stephanie Wells-Mullins, was also quoted on the school’s new offerings, saying, “I am very pleased to have these new academic offerings at Rio—especially the Public Health degree. We have seen over the past few years while navigating through a pandemic that having public health workers is crucial.”

Students interested in the new offerings at the University of Rio Grande can apply on the school’s website.
