New partnership allows for training endowment at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation have formed a partnership to invest $140,000 to support the workforce needs of Kentucky.

A new partnership between Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation has been formed. The partnership will invest almost $140,000 in an endowment that will help fund efforts to support Kentucky’s workforce training needs.

The partnership’s endowment is funded by the dissolution of the Elizabethtown Industrial Foundation Training Consortium, and reflects that Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s ability to provide customized training to employers has grown substantially.

In an article from The News Enterprise, President and COO of the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation Rick Games said, “As the needs of our region’s employers have evolved, ECTC has stepped up to deliver flexible training options and save employers over $1 million annually through the KCTCS TRAINS program. Because the community’s needs outgrew the capacity of the Training Consortium, we are proud to create a permanent source of funding for high-demand programs that will develop our workforce.”

Megan Stith, who serves as the ECTC Foundation Executive Director, was also quoted as saying, “The endowment will be eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching funds through the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, adding additional impact to this incredibly generous gift.”

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will now, because of this endowment, have the funds to facilitate the transfer for students to baccalaureate degree programs in Kentucky, implement programs that contribute to workforce development in high need areas, offer scholarships, and support more faculty positions.

President and CEO of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Dr. Juston Pate talked about how the partnership aligns with the school’s goals, and will help students in the future, saying, “The Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation has a history of taking proactive steps to shape the future of our region and position us for continued growth. His partnership is just one more way we’re not only making a difference together now but for generations to come.”
