Sinclair Community College awarding $5,000 scholarships to ten students every week in August

All students enrolled in even one credit hour for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester at Sinclair Community College will be automatically registered for newly released scholarship funds. Each Monday, beginning August 2, five new students and five continuing students will be randomly selected to receive $5,000 scholarships to be used for tuition, books, and other expenses billed by the college, according to a recent news release from Sinclair. The total scholarship money up for grabs through this special program is $200,000.

Students who enroll as late as the day before any of the drawing dates will be entered. Scholarships will be applied before any other forms of financial aid are applied. Senior Vice President for Student Development at Sinclair, Dr. Scott Markland, said in the news release, "Sinclair College is thrilled to offer this opportunity to build excitement around fall enrollment and, more importantly, provide vital support to our students who have worked so hard through the pandemic."

According to the release, students enrolled in non-tuition paying programs are not eligible for the scholarship. All other students, enrolled in at least one credit hour, qualify for the Fall 2021 semester which begins August 23, 2021.

The drawings are scheduled for August 2, August 9, August 16, and August 23.
