Baldwin Wallace University introduces new scholarship opportunity

The university’s new President’s Horizon Award will help make a college education more affordable and accessible for new first-year or transfer students.

Baldwin Wallace University’s new President’s Horizon Award has recently been introduced as a scholarship opportunity that will make a college education more accessible and affordable for new first-time and transfer students. The scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students in the amount of $1,845, reflecting the founding year of the university.

According to an article on Baldwin Wallace University’s website, the university’s new president, Lee Fisher, was quoted as saying of the President’s Horizon Award, "The Horizon Award is open to students and families from all income levels and will contribute significantly to assuring the net price tuition at BW lives up to our consistent ranking as a 'Best Value' college experience. This scholarship reflects our unwavering belief that a transformative education in a high-demand career field should be within reach for students from all backgrounds. Financial barriers should never prevent talented students from pursuing their educational goals and meeting employer need. The Horizon Award is our investment in the next generation of leaders, innovators and changemakers."

Students who are eligible for the $1,845 scholarship will be automatically given the scholarship upon their enrollment with no application necessary. The scholarship will be renewable for up to four years for students who are new first-year or transfer students at Baldwin Wallace University. It is stackable on top of other scholarships, grants, and financial aid, and will be able to assist students throughout the entirety of a four-year bachelor degree program.

The new President Fisher was officially inaugurated on October 9, 2025.
