Cleary University introduces direct admission for certain students

High school graduates from Livingston County will no longer have to apply to attend Cleary University. They can move straight to enrolling for classes.

Cleary University has eliminated the application process for high school students graduating from Livingston County. The move to direct admission for these students in what the school is calling Cleary Direct Connect is expected to streamline the process for students to move from high school to college.

According to an article on Cleary University’s website, Jeremy Walker, who serves as the school’s senior vice president of Enrollment Management, was quoted as saying of the new process, “We are excited to offer this opportunity for graduating high school seniors to continue their education and simplify the college admission process at the same time. Applying to a college can be a stressful experience, and our goal is to minimize that anxiety by moving right ahead to a direct admission and the enrollment process.”

Cleary Direct Connect will make it so that students hailing from Livingston County only need to meet the university’s minimum entrance requirements to move straight to enrollment. No application forms will be required, nor will letters of recommendation or essays, which are traditionally the most time consuming and laborious pieces of the process.

Walker pointed out another benefit to the Cleary Direct Connect policy: cost saving. “On an average, college applications can cost between $50 to $90 each, and students often apply to many colleges. The direct admit process will save students hundreds of dollars, which is another added benefit for students who don’t have a lot of financial resources to apply to several colleges,” he said.

While eligible students will not need to go through the traditional application process, they will still be able to receive guidance and support as they get started with their college journey. The admissions staff will still help students with financial aid.

“Sometimes students don’t even apply because they think they won’t get in. Cleary eliminates that worry. We are eliminating those application barriers and application fees, too. In addition to providing faster access to an education from a top business school in the country, students can relax and enjoy their future academic journey, knowing they are going to great college and looking forward to that experience,” said Walker.
