Stark State College receives grant funding from Dell and Intel to open AI Lab

The AI Lab is open in the W.R. Timken Center for Information Technology on Stark State College’s campus.

Stark State College is home to a new AI Lab, and in Fall 2024, two AI certificates will be available to students.

According to an article on Stark State College’s website, Para M. Jones, Ph.D., the president of Stark State College, was quoted as saying, “Stark State is very proud to work with Intel to become a leader in AI (Artificial Intelligence) workforce education. Intel is looking to Stark State to be an ‘accelerator’ in preparing people with AI skills needed in the digital economy.”

The school received grant funding from Dell and Intel in order to open the AI Lab, and Intel assisted Stark State College faculty in developing the AI certificates that will soon be available to students.

Intel is also partnering with Stark State College to be part of its AI-Ready Workforce program. The AI-Ready Workforce program consists of community colleges across the country who are training its students to become valuable members of the workforce who are prepared to handle the skills necessary and challenges that may arise from working with artificial intelligence.
