Freed-Hardeman University announces new Transfer Scholarship program

The new program aims to help transfer students receive the same support and financial assistance that first-time freshmen students already receive.

Freed-Hardeman University's new Transfer Scholarship program is giving incoming transfer students the same eligibility as first-time incoming freshmen students to receive scholarships and grants, something the university is hopeful will help transfer students succeed in their academic careers.

According to an article on Freed-Hardeman University’s website, President David R. Shannon discussed the new program, saying, FHU is dedicated to providing opportunities for all students to access a quality education. The Transfer Scholarship Program is a testament to our commitment to supporting transfer students in achieving their academic aspirations.”

Among the scholarships that transfer students are now eligible for are merit scholarships, based on the student’s high school GPA, and transfer scholarships, which are based on the student’s college GPA. Merit scholarships can net students up to $15,000 per year and transfer scholarships can give students up to $7,000 a year.
