Hiram College beats enrollment goals for 2023-2024 school year

Hiram College recently announced that with over 250 incoming undergraduate students, it has beaten its enrollment goal by 10%, with an increase of 15% over the most recent academic year.

Hiram College has recently announced that its 2023-2024 enrollment goal has not only been met, but surpassed with more than 250 incoming undergraduate students joining the school based on the most recent fall census count. The number of students enrolling in the school has passed the college’s stated goal by 10% and is a total 15% increase in first year student enrollment from the previous academic year.

In an article posted on Hiram College’s website, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing for the school, Andrea Welch, Ph.D., was quoted about this achievement, saying, “The team at Hiram has worked tirelessly this recruitment cycle, and I am incredibly proud of the collaboration between the enrollment offices, and the rest of the faculty, staff, coaches, and alumni to make these exceptional results possible. It’s a true testament to the strong strategic recruitment and marketing strategy that the team put together, coupled with a focus on affordability, data-informed decisions, a student-centered approach, and strong support from our partners in athletics.”

The passing of the school’s enrollment goal is part of a larger positive trend the college has been noticing, such as a growth in inquiries, visits, and applications all seeing a steady increase, with an increase in admissions by more than 18% over last year. Hiram College has also seen the largest number of transfer students since the fall semester of 2018, which is a 12% increase over last year. Throughout the year, the amount of campus visits by prospective students has gone up by over 20%, with 2,355 visitors attending tours both virtually and in person. Hiram faculty attended more than 300 meetings to individually talk to prospective students who showed interest in their field of study, and coaches personally met with athletes interested in the college more than 1,000 times.

Hriam’s director of admissions Jana Willan spoke about the college’s dedication to communicating with prospective and current students, saying, “At Hiram, we are known for our commitment to personalized outreach and student support throughout the entire enrollment process. The work that we have done to ensure that processes flow smoothly and that touch points are more intentional for incoming students and families has been fruitful. The Hiram community is incredibly passionate about showing students all that we have to offer so that they can take that next step in life with confidence that they have found their perfect fit.”

The college has also placed a special focus on student financial aid services as part of its current strategic enrollment management strategy. This means that Hiram College is closely looking at student needs to find the best student financial aid packages for those students, while working one on one with each student to make sure that they have the best financial plan. As each family has differing needs when it comes to paying for college, Hiram makes it a point to make sure that every student who is attending full time on campus is receiving some sort of financial aid, including students who have transferred to the college.

The next incoming class will see students from all of the country, and the world, with many students coming from the states Hiram has focused on in the past such as California, New York, West Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
