With three decades of experience in the healthcare and facilities fields, Bill MacKay has been offered and has accepted a new position at Firelands Regional Medical Center as the Director of Facilities and Plant Operations.
Firelands Health has recently hired Bill MacKay as the new Director of Facilities and Plant Operations. MacKay has had more than three decades of experience in the areas of healthcare and facilities maintenance, and is certified in Hospital Emergency Response Team training for mass casualty incidents.
Throughout his career, MacKay has spent time in a variety of roles in the healthcare industry, such as the corporate director of plant operations for four substance use disorder clinics and five hospitals, most recently.
In an article posted on Firelands Regional Medical Center’s website, MacKay was quoted on his interest in his new position, saying, “I came here for the people. Being independent was an important part of where I wanted to work. However, meeting the people during my interview process inspired me to want to be part of this organization. I look forward to growing and bonding with my facilities’ team as a unit. I respect and look up to the leadership that has previously made Firelands a great place. I look forward to building on the health system’s successes."
When not working, MacKay says that he likes to lift weights, play soccer, golf, camp, and go for walks with his wife and their two dogs. He also serves on the board of directors for Blueridge Vista, Ethan Crossing of Cleveland, Sunrise Vista, and ClearVista. He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association International Fire Marshals Association.
