The new 2024 US News Best Colleges rankings have shown Ursuline College improving in the rankings in various areas such as nursing, overall across the nation and state, and more.
Ursuline College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has been ranked the sixth best in Ohio by the 2024 US News Best Colleges. Ursuline’s program is tied with Ohio University’s. Across the country, Ursuline rose 64 places in the rankings from the 247th spot to the 183rd spot since last year.
In an article posted on Ursuline College’s website, Patricia Sharpnack, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, who serves as the dean of Ursuline College’s Breen School of Nursing and Health Professions, was quoted about the rankings as saying, “Our dedicated faculty and staff help our students become some of Northeast Ohio’s most sought-after BSN-educated nurses. We have 100% job placement rate among our graduates after they receive their licensure to become registered nurses. During the May licensure exam, we had a 100% pass rate for these young alumni.”
US News ranked Ursuline College’s master of science in nursing 34th in the country last spring. Ursuline will also welcome its first cohort of students in its new nurse anesthesia track within its doctor of nursing practice degree program this coming July, pending the approval of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
Come the turn of the new year, Ursuline College will also implement a new part time option for its accelerated BSN or its nursing program for people who have already earned an undergraduate degree of some kind. The college has more new offerings for health care programs such as a bachelor’s in nutrition, a bachelor’s degree completion program for respiratory therapists, and a physician assistant program.
Another impressive ranking for Ursuline comes from the 2024 Best College’s Midwest Regional Universities category, where it ranked 83rd overall and 12th in Ohio.
Ursuline College’s President Sister Christine De Vinne, OSU, PhD was quoted about the school’s nursing program, saying, “Our nursing program rests on a 75-year history of leadership in the field. The new rankings testify to the efforts of today’s faculty and students as they work to advance the profession with dedicated skill and compassion.”
