Federal funding from Congress is being used by Eastern Gateway Community College to fund a course in electronic vehicle training.
Thanks to just under $1 million in federal funding for specialized training, Eastern Gateway Community College will soon offer an Electronic Vehicle training course. The money comes from a government funding package that Congress passed, and part of $19 million is spending for projects in Ohio’s 13th District, which is represented by U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan.
Eastern Gateway Community College President Michael Geoghegan talked to WTOV9 about the Electronic Vehicle training course, saying, "We're going to be training people for the next big industry in this country which is electric vehicles. Not only will it be technicians, but it'll be hands on, there will be a virtual component.”
The school plans to have the program available for students by the Fall 2023 semester.
