With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College holds a breast cancer 5K to honor survivors of the second most common cancer.

Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College is holding a 5K run and walk to celebrate survivors of breast cancer, and to bring more awareness to the disease. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the event will be held on October 22.

Organizers of the event noted that among women, breast cancer is the second most common cancer after skin cancer.
